The send-off party is a beloved Tanzanian tradition—a vibrant pre-wedding celebration where the bride’s family officially blesses the union and celebrates the coming together of two families. It’s a day bursting with joy, music, dancing, and rich cultural rituals that will have you laughing, cheering, and maybe even chasing chickens (literally 😂).

This is a full-day experience—come ready!

WHAT TO EXPECT

🌄 Morning (8:00 AM – 12:00 PM) - BREAKFAST & ACTIVITIES

Transport from Element Hotel to the venue will depart at 7:45 a.m. sharp.

• Attire: Casual & comfortable—think athleisure or clothes you don’t mind getting messy (you will break a sweat if you’re on the chicken-chasing crew 🐓).

• Arrival & Swahili breakfast: chapati, maandazi, samosas, soups, masala tea and coffee.

• Chicken chase kicks off at 9:00 AM! This is where the real action begins—men (and brave women!) chasing chickens, others preparing goat for the BBQ, laughter all around.

• Cold beers and nyama choma will be flowing as we grill and chill.

🍛 Afternoon (12:00 PM – 3:00 PM) - LUNCH & BREAK TIME

Buses will return guests to Element Hotel at 1:00 p.m.

• Lunch served with more classic Tanzanian dishes.

• Guests will have time to rest or head back to their hotels for a quick freshen-up (transport provided).

💍 Evening (4:00 PM – 6:00 PM) - DOWRY NEGOTIATIONS

Buses will depart from Element Hotel at 3:30 p.m. to take guests back to the venue for the evening festivities.

• Attire: Go big with your African-inspired elegance! Glamorous outfits, bold prints, and statement accessories are encouraged for both women and men. SHOW UP AND SHOW OFF 💃🏾✨🔥🕺🏾🎉👑📸

• Dowry negotiations, an emotional and symbolic moment between families. (Brush up on those negotiation skills, folks - you'll need them 😉 Recommended reading: The Art of the Deal (author unknown 🤣📚)

• Light snacks and soup will be served during this time.

🕺🏾 Night (7:00 PM – Late) - PARTYYY

• The real party begins—dancing, drinks, music, and celebration until your feet give up or the speakers do!

GOOD TO KNOW

🚗 Transportation & Traffic:

We will provide transportation to and from the venues only for guests staying at the Element Hotel.

If you choose to stay elsewhere, please feel free to do so—whatever makes you most comfortable! Just keep in mind that Dar es Salaam traffic is very real, especially in the mornings & evenings. If you’re staying farther out (like at the Hyatt or other locations), we strongly recommend planning extra time to avoid missing the festivities.

Element Hotel is our preferred location for ease of travel, and we’ll be on hand to coordinate transport from there so no one gets left behind.
